Alpine Dachsbracke dog training

This breed of dog comes from Austria and has several alternative names, such as: Alpenlandische Dachsbracke, Basset des Alpes, Perro Tejonero alpino. It is a small dog used for hunting and tracking. It looks a bit like a Dachshund, smaller than a Dachsbracke from the Alps and bigger than the related German dog, known as its cousin. The Alpine Dachsbracke dog training will be started early, when the dog is still a whelp, because puppies are always willing to learn plenty of new things, they love to play and they are very curious too. All trainers uphold this statement relying on their vast experience in training different breeds and different ages, noticing that older dogs are not so obedient like the younger ones. Alpine Dachsbracke dog training has the real purpose of reducing the relationship difficulties between the dog and its master.

How to train an Alpine Dachsbracke dog

Training the Alpine Dachbracke dog does not have the purpose of transforming your pet into an automaton, which has to respond in a very precise way to every command. The purpose of any Alpine Dachsbracke dog training is to form a rapport between the owner and his dog, to help the dog become a good companion, to develop a great relationship with its master. As a general effect, the Alpine Dachsbracke dog training is meant to develop and improve the communication and the bond between the owner and his dog. The techniques about how to train an Alpine Dachbracke dog are performed either by the trainer himself or by the dog's owner, but only under the specialist's guidance. This way all the commands given to the dog will be controlled and not given chaotically and the outcomes will be the best possible.

Basic Alpine Dachsbracke dog training commands

The basic commands used for the Alpine Dachsbracke dog training are the same as for other dog breeds. There are some slight exceptions regarding the training techniques, as some dogs require more attention during the training than others. Training Alpine Dachsbracke dogs the basic commands will require the dog collar and the dog leash items for teaching the dog the position we want to teach.

SIT - is the command that needs to be taught first. It is important to start the Alpine Dachsbracke dog training only when the dog is calm, only then we are supposed to put the dog collar and the dog leash around the pet's neck. If you want to train an Alpine Dachsbracke dog the sitting position, you need to pull up the leash whilst pressing down the dogs back until it is "forced" to sit. If it won't obey, then you can grip the leash firmly and pull it upward until the dog will sit. It is important to praise the dog the minute it stays in the right position. This way it will develop the self confidence and will be willing to listen to its master all the time.

STAY - this is the command that has to be performed on dog only after it executes the first command, described above. First, you have to ask your dog to sit. Then, ask it to stay while keeping the leash above its head or in case the dog wants to sit, then hold the leash high enough that it can't sit comfortably. After some exercises, the dog will comprehend the meaning of the word STAY.

LIE DOWN - this verbal command should be accompanied by the action of pushing down the Alpine Dachsbracke dog's back using its shoulders or pulling the leash towards the back in the diagonal way. At the end, the dog will be able to associate the verbal command with the right position.

STAND - the rules for performing this last basic command are almost the same as the previous ones. You need to hold the dog's collar and give the command at the same time with pulling forward on the collar. If the dog won't listen, then push gently the dog collar in the other direction until the dog is in the stand position.
